Hello, it's me, the creator of nzellie.
If you have read the about me page, well done, you can probably guess who I am if not, this post is most definitely for you. And those that have read the about me page but would like to know actually whether I am a human or not.... only time will tell.

Anyhoo, My name is Ellie, I am 21 years old, from the U.K. I spent most of my childhood and adolescent years in Dorset, but I am originally from East Anglia. I decided I wanted to get into travelling more once I was more settled career wise and had an idea of what I wanted to do. Well, Covid hit, and the travel blues came with. I spent most of my childhood in planes, on trains, ferries travelling around Europe with my parents, or on school trips, so travelling was never a stranger to me. Once everything started to reopen post lockdown numero tres, I made the bold decision that I wanted to go out to New Zealand. Or as my mother said to me earlier this evening, "the furthest place I could go on the planet without actually leaving it."
Aotearoa has always appealed to me since I was kid. Mainly because Australia terrifies me with all of its deadly animals but mostly the spiders put me off visiting. That and the weather in NZ seems better. Although with global warming, I might need to reconsider.
I originally trained in Hospitality as my first career, then entered Events Management, before returning to Hospitality, then working as an Emergency Care Assistant for a private Ambulance Company. When I arrive in NZ, I will be starting a new job as a Food & Beverage Team Leader for a 4.5* Hotel in Christchurch. Yes, I am also very aware that I look like a career ping-pong ball but believe me there is a method to my madness. Plus if you'd have seen my CV, you would see that I normally worked 3 jobs with the exception of the last 9 months.
In Summary, this blogsite is going to be used for documenting my travels with stories, and pictures, and videos. For friends and family to see or if others want to gain inspiration from my adventures. This won't just be for NZ, it will be about all over the world and the places I go but is mainly to document the next two years, mainly spent in New Zealand.
Have a fab time x
